Why SALFORD?

As a Salford resident, it felt only natural for Samarasa’s journey to begin within my own community. Starting locally gives me the opportunity to build something meaningful and share my love of Indian dance close to home.

✦ Culture & Integration

With 82.3% of Salford residents identifying as White, and all other broad ethnic groups each representing less than 10% of the population, I see an exciting opportunity to introduce Indian dance to new audiences, encouraging curiosity, cultural exchange and meaningful connections across different backgrounds.

✦ Accessibility

Many existing Indian dance classes involve travelling into Central or South Manchester. For those of us living around Worsley and neighbouring areas across Salford, that can mean navigating the notoriously busy M60 after work or the school run. I want to bring Indian dance closer to people's doorstep to fit in with realistic everyday life. Less time travelling, more time dancing! Less Adrenaline, more Endorphins!
